Vadood (28) moved from Iran to complete his Master’s in Petroleum at the University of Stavanger, and fell in love with the region.

 

Since August 2011, Vadood has worked as a Reservoir Engineer at Ziebel. He works with everything from interpretation of data to brainstorming with customers. The range of tasks he performs at Ziebel draw from his entire academic background on a day-to-day basis.

 

 

We have a unique technology, which we singularly possess expertise in. My colleagues have a lot of experience in a wide variety of fields, and are willing to share their knowledge. At the same time they are also open to new input.

 

The social environment at Ziebel also sets us apart from other companies. A lot of my co-workers have studied or worked abroad and are used to communicating in English – this seems to apply also after work. That is probably a contributing factor as to why we have such a good social environment: we can meet after work hours without anyone being excluded. We maintain a professional attitude toward clients and are serious about the work we do, but we have an informal manner amongst ourselves.

 

 

At Ziebel, you have an opportunity to become an expert in an exciting new technology. The day-to-day workload is so varied; you have an exciting day, every day. I still haven’t experienced a dull day at work. You might be working on a customer presentation one minute and the next be interpreting data from a well.

 

You are challenged every day. You might have to find answers to questions that have not been answered before.
